M.I.A. deserves her own post. Seeing this woman play at Coachella was one of the most intense experiences of my life. Remember how I said the show on Saturday was totally sold out? Well I’m pretty sure that ALL of Coachella went to see M.I.A, who was not on the main stage, therefore not having even close to enough space to accommodate her audience.

She was set to play at 8:20, so we decided to walk over at 8:10 to get a decent spot. MISTAKE. It was already completely full, and outside an entrance to a tent where I could catch an OK glimpse of her I was already being pushed in every direction. As soon as her first song started, the crowd got out of control. She looked awesome and was playing a great show when (I don’t know how or why) her stage became filled with fans, that eventually pushed her offstage.

Suddenly the stage was crowded with excited dancing Coachella fans, with no M.I.A in sight. At one point I heard her yell: “I can’t hear sh–!” and all the audience could hear were beats as security tried to control the stage. Eventually the crowd settled down, the fainting girls were taken to first aid tents and M.I.A. delivered the rest of her impressive set.
