Ticket Stubs: Smashing Pumpkins, Chris Brown, Kooks, Switchfoot

- “The whole Smashing Pumpkins set really did feel unreal. At points I even stopped singing along and just stared at them, not believing this band I’ve loved since I was about 13 were literally a couple of meters in front of me. That immense feeling of happiness that almost makes your stomach queasy and your chest tight? That just stayed with me for hours without fading. I don’t think I’ve felt anything like it.” (LiveJournal)

- “Chris Brown stole the show as he engaged the audience with his many great talents. Girls of all ages screamed until they couldn’t scream anymore, while his intense yet appropriate dance moves shined on the stage.” (Off the Track)

- “A mother and her daughter drove over 4 hours in the snow from Philadelphia to catch one of the handful of dates that the Kooks were playing in the States. The mother told me the last time she’d seen them was when they were opening up for the Rolling Stones in England. Well that seemed like a very appropriate bill. Lead singer Luke Pritchard pranced around onstage like a young Mick Jagger (or perhaps even modern day Mick).” (Brooklyn Vegan)

- “Anyway, the Switchfoot concert was GREAT. … They sound very good live, and Jon Foreman is quite charming too. I think band lead singers HAVE to be charming. It’s mandatory. That’s how you win the hearts of girls. … I remember one moment during the concert where I just stood still and really was quite stunned. ‘Twenty-Four’ was the song, and during Jon Foreman’s acoustic guitar solo, just his voice and his guitar was amazing. … Now this song is on repeat on my iTunes and N95.” (A Pensive Pensieve)
