Who Needs Green Day When You’ve Got Six Bad-Ass Rocker Girls?
October 6, 2007 - Big Apple Bar, Las Vegas, NV
While wandering through Las Vegas’ New York New York casino in a daze, staring at the seizure-inducing lights around me, breathing in that stale secondhand smoke, I stumbled into a dimly lit bar to snap out of my wide-eyed stupor.
Onstage were six girls dressed in punked-out schoolgirl skirts and corsets. I didn’t know what to expect from them, but as soon as they picked up their instruments I knew I’d be staying at the Big Apple Bar for the better part of the night.
The all-girl cover band was aptly named Band She, but it was like no cover band I’d heard before. Unlike other cover bands that often feel like the entertainment you might find on your grandparents’ cruise ship performing during 4 o’clock supper, these girls were born to be onstage. With a guitarist that shreds like its no joke, and flawless vocals from all but one of the divas, they performed everything from Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson to Green Day and Aerosmith.
As the night went on, an impressive crowd was lured in by the music and the band fed off its energy. As we cheered louder and sang along more, the girls became more animated onstage, flipping their hair and shaking their booties all without missing a beat.
In what had to be the best performance of the night and definitely the crowd favorite, the lead singer with her waist-length blonde hair blowing in the fan belted out Heart’s hit “Alone” with a pitch that gave me chills. The crowd was on its feet screaming wildly with drunken praise, and with a humble smile she asked, “How much did you pay them to cheer that loud, girls?”
I may have left all of my cash and dignity in Vegas, but I took home a hangover and a new favorite cover band.

This band is probably the best kept secret of 2007. They have more than what it takes; they play their own instraments, they don’t lip sync and they are born to perform. They also do write their own music.
Hopefully the powers that be will be smart enough to sign these girls up quickly.

I agree with all comments on Band She, they are one of the BEST bands around today. I discovered them at Big Apple on Halloween night and I spent two more nights Rockin with the Ladies. They made me feel 20 years younger singing their hearts out on those Old Rockin Roll Songs. I got to meet them all and they are Great People as well as Musicians!!!!!!
KEEP ON ROCKIN !!!!
LOVE YA’ll LADIES!!!!

Coming all the way from Australia to celebrate my 21st in Las Vegas - the highlight of the night of my birthday was BandShe by far … Accidently stumbling upon them the night of Thanksgiving, me and my friends were hooked … even my Dad (go figure!) These girls rocked it like never before, I’d have to say that they are one of the best bands i have EVER seen perform. Not only are they all amazingly talented but they really know how to get the crowd going … i was even lucky enough to have Happy Birthday sung for me - a real treat! Will someone PLEASE SIGN THEM UP! I have a feeling these girls will SH– all over the Spice Girls!

I had the pleasure of hanging out with Amy Sho (lead singer of Bandshe) for the whole weekend while we were at the Taxi convention a few years ago in LA (2006?). As soon as i heard her solo cd (pre bandshe) I was hooked. She is a true shooting star. I cant wait to see them as a group Aug 1st and 2nd in Albuquerque. Rock on Ladies and see ya at the show.
